You don’t need a perfectly styled home. A tree, a bit of window light and your family are all we need. I will guide you through the whole session, so even the shyest dads and busiest toddlers feel at ease.
How to Prepare Your Home for a Christmas Photoshoot
A little preparation makes a big difference, and none of it takes more than 30 minutes. These simple tips work for every Christmas photoshoot Abu Dhabi families book with me, whether you live in a villa or an apartment.
- Put your tree near a window. Natural light from a window is the secret to soft, glowing photos. If your tree can’t move, clear the space between it and the nearest window.
- Switch off the ceiling lights. Overhead lights add yellow tones and harsh shadows. Keep the tree lights and lamps on, and turn the big lights off.
- Clear the background. Move toys, laundry baskets and cables out of the corner where we will shoot. A clean background keeps the focus on your family.
- Choose coordinated outfits. Matching Christmas pyjamas are always a favourite. Otherwise pick two or three soft colours like cream, red, green or beige, and avoid big logos.
- Plan a small activity. Decorating cookies, opening an early present or reading a Christmas book together gives kids something to do. This is where the most natural photos happen.
- Pick the right time. Morning and early afternoon sessions have the best daylight. Late afternoon sessions are perfect if you love the warm glow of tree lights.

Do I need a Christmas tree?
A tree is lovely, but not essential. A cosy sofa, a window and a few of my fairy lights can create a beautiful festive setting.
Can grandparents or pets join?
Yes. The session is for your whole household, including grandparents visiting for the holidays and family pets.
What if my child is having a bad day?
That is completely normal. We will take breaks, play and follow your child’s rhythm. One hour gives us plenty of time.
Will I get my photos before Christmas?
Yes. Your gallery is delivered within 7 days, so you will have your photos by early December.
Do you travel to Dubai?
Yes, for an extra 250 AED. Ask me about Dubai dates, as I group Dubai sessions on one day.
